Often believers ask the question, “What has God created me for, what is my purpose, what
is God’s plan for my life”? These are legitimate questions that deserve an answer, and the
Good news is – the Bible gives us God’s answer.

God’s Plan for You is Good
God says, “For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and
not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” God’s plan for you ALWAYS is good and
satan’s plan for you always is destruction. God loves each one of us and shows His continual
love for us through His Son Jesus. God’s plan for you always is good because – HE is Good!
Jesus declared that His Father was Good in Mark 10:18. Unfortunately, many believers think
Father God is a taker, one the contrary, Father God is a lover and because He loves – He gives.
(John 3:16) Matter of fact, look what James 1:17 says of Him, “Every good thing given and
every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no
variation or shifting shadow.” Every Good thing that has come into your life has come from your
Father in heaven. The evil that has come into your life has come from the devil, so settle it in
your heart and mind once and for all, God’s plan for you is only good!

What’s His plan for my Life
First and foremost His plan is for you to love Him with all your heart. This is the first and
greatest Commandment and to love your neighbor is second. You see, when you love Him with
all your heart all the other parts of your life He will put together for you. Let me stress to you
and repeat, His plan for you is to know Him intimately and to love Him deeply. You can live
your life and acquire great wealth, fame, titles, college degrees, high position – but if you miss
this love and intimacy with him – you have missed your main purpose in life!! For many
Christians their relationship with the Lord is shallow and they call on Him mainly when they’re
in trouble. We should definitely call on Him when we’re in trouble, but that doesn’t make for a
close intimate relationship with Him. When you live close to Him you know His heart, you
perceive He leading in your life, you hear the whisper of His voice, you experience “Great
Peace and Joy”. And let me tell you, there is no price tag you can put on Peace and Joy!
The scripture says, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will
be added to you.”(Matt.6:33) When you put first things first, every good thing from heaven will
follow. Please understand your enemy will continually try to destroy the good things God has
for you.

Created by Him and for Him
“For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through
Him and for Him.” (Col.1:16) We have been created by the Lord and for the Lord, therefore
our fulfillment can only be found in HIM. As woman was created for man so we were created
for the Lord. We were created to have a “personal relationship” with the Lord. This was His
original intent from the beginning of creation and nothing has changed. You MUST understand
this is the primary reason you and I were created! He wants us to live daily walking and
talking together with Him. Secondly, the scripture clearly states as believers what we’re also
created for. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” Eph. 2:10 As a believer you are created
to do good works, to be a blessing to others. This is who you are and this is what your called
to do. You are not saved by good works, but since you are saved you do good works!! You
don’t live selfishly, rather you give your life away to help and bless others. You lose your life by
giving it away and in so doing you are walking in that for which you were created. “So then,
while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the
household of the faith.”(Gal.6:10) You were created to walk with the Lord, you are to live like
Jesus – doing good and help others.

What Is My Purpose

All of us are different by divine design, this is found in our fingerprints, DNA and even the Iris of
our eyes. The Lord likes diversity, that’s why there’s different kinds of trees, fish, birds, and
flowers. He designed us with different colors of skin, color of eyes, color of hair; different
abilities, skills and talents. He designed and placed within us the desire to accomplish, one in
one area of life and the other in a different area. Some have the divine desire to teach, another
to repair cars, another to cook, another to clean houses, another to serve in the military,
another to be in politics, and on it goes. The key for you is to find out what you love to do,
find out what your passionate about and then you will find this part of Father’s divine purpose
for your life. I heard the story of a medical doctor as he was discussing the issue of going to
work. He responded and said, “I don’t go to work, I go and do what I love to do”! Here is a
man who has found his divine calling, his divine purpose. The same can be true of a woman
who loves working with children or a man who farms or a person who does research for a
company or a man who designs hats. When you love what you do, you will have found this part
of your divine purpose.

The Big Picture
The Lord truly loves you and His plans for you are good. It’s important that your life’s work be
in the area of what you love to do and what you’re passionate about. This may not happen
quickly but be patient and pursue that passion. Also God’s plan for you is that you live a close
intimate life with Him, to love Him with all your heart. You were created for Him and don’t forget
that! You were also created to do good works for others and to love your neighbor as yourself.
These make up the big picture for your life, these make up the Big Picture for every believer’s
life. If you will love the Lord with all your heart, live close to Him, serve others, pursue your
passion, then you will walk in God’s plan and purpose for your life. Don’t look for another plan!
